Liz is a truly exceptional teacher. A rare find. Not only students but also teachers looking to up skills should look no further, you will not find better. Just book the course! Shuna 2020.
My husband is a huge sourdough and focaccia fan so I took myself off to learn with Liz…to be able to bake him good preservative free bread. What a wonderful day it was…Liz is a true inspiration and full of knowledgeable nuggets and gems about all things bread! She is a great teacher full of wonderful qualities…kindness, patience, knowledge, to name but a few! I came away with so much information, bread and new skills. The group were so accommodating and friendly which was great for a total newbie to encounter. My husband collected me after and he hand’t even started the car engine before tucking into a square of succulent focaccia (his words). I have just made my first attempt at porridge bread and have a focaccia dough on the go for baking tomorrow. I can’t wait to bake more and look forward to learning more about bread with Liz! Oh and the bread I took home was/is moreish beyond belief! I have never tasted such a heavenly rye :) Sam. July 2021
The class was absolutely wonderful. Liz is an excellent teacher - so knowledgeable and shares her wealth of bread experience in a really clear, fun and easy to follow way. We did the beginners bread course and it has given us a fantastic foundation in learning the techniques and science behind baking bread. The whole day was really well balanced, with a great ratio of practicals, questions and coffee/lunch breaks (all homemade by Liz - absolutely delicious!). We would highly recommend. Thank you Liz!

Absolutely fabulous day, we met as strangers and left as friends. Liz is an amazing teacher and instantly spots where she can help or offer advice. Her wealth of knowledge could stretch around the world. You’ll learn how to make delicious bread, eat a fabulous lunch (the crackers!!!!) and most of all you will have the most tremendous fun.

I have just spent the most wonderful day, learning about sourdough in Liz’s kitchen. Liz’s passion and enthusiasm for this ancient, simple and just delicious and nutritious way of baking, are contagious, and I came home with a backpack, bursting at the seams with so much wonderful bread, crackers, focaccia, copious instructions and information, and some precious starter for attempting my own sourdough at home. Thank you, Liz, for sharing your knowledge, experience and hospitality - I can’t wait to try these at home!

Liz is so much more than a gifted teacher, she is a genuine enthusiast, gracious sharer of her own knowledge and skills and great fun. Passionate is a word used far too often nowadays but it truly does describe how ‘Ma Baker’ feels about the magical alchemy of bread making.
What she has achieved with Ma Baker is encouraging and inspiring to anyone considering setting up a Micro bakery. Aside from baking, her insights into what it takes to start and maintain a small business, her ‘insider knowledge’ and her useful lists of contacts are, in themselves, immensely valuable.
Spending a couple of days with Liz in a small and mutually supportive group, irrespective of what you think you already know, will be time well spent.
I have been cooking, often professionally, for decades and I consider the couple of days I spent with Liz as priceless.
Don’t hesitate to book a course with her. You won’t regret it. Karen. July 2021
