Ma Baker is run by Liz Wilson a teacher, passionate home cook and baker. Liz completed Virtuous Bread’s Micro Bakery course with Jane Mason in July 2013 and graduated as a Bread Angel. She then spent the following year volunteering in bakeries and cooking schools around London and working alongside other Bread Angels. In September 2013, Liz entered the Tiptree World Bread Awards and was runner up in The Home Baking category. In the 2014 awards, Liz took home two Silver medals. Ma Baker Award Winning Bread Baker

Liz started selling her bread in April 2014 and her orders have been increasing week on week. She also teaches the skills of real bread making in small friendly classes in her own home. She has received rave reviews for her bread and also for her expert tuition.

Liz says ‘I love what I do. With four simple ingredients I can make something that tastes wonderful and makes people smile. The process is calming and satisfying and the smell is amazing. I love seeing the success of my students, there is a real ‘wow’ moment when their bread comes out of the oven. I love delivering my bread to my community and stopping to have a chat on the doorstep while handing over a just baked loaf. What could be better?’
